WHAT ARE DENTURES?

Overview
Dentures are custom-made replacements for missing teeth and can be taken out and put back into your mouth. While dentures take some getting used to, and will never feel exactly the same as natural teeth, today's dentures are natural looking and more comfortable than ever.

Benefits of DENTURES
Replacing missing teeth will help to improve your appearance and smile. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. Dentures can help you eat and speak more comfortably.
Top Oral Care Tips for DENTURES
  • Don't let dentures dry out – place them in a denture cleanser soaking solution or in plain water when you're not wearing them. Never use hot water, which can cause dentures to warp.
  • Brush your dentures – brushing dentures daily will remove food and dental plaque, and help prevent them from becoming stained.
  • Take care of your mouth – brush your gums, tongue and palate every morning with a soft-bristled brush before you insert dentures. This stimulates circulation in your tissues and helps remove plaque.
  • Consult your dentist – see your dentist if dentures break, chip, crack or become loose. Don't be tempted to adjust them yourself — this can damage them beyond repair.

3 HELPFUL DENTURE TIPS!

Tip #1. Cut food into small sections and take small bites.

We would recommend starting with a soft or liquid diet that is composed of easy to chew foods. Some ideas for foods that you can eat are: mashed potatoes, eggs, soups, and smoothies. After you get comfortable with the soft or liquid diet, start eating other foods by cutting them into small sections and taking small bites. New dentures can make eating uncomfortable and awkward, and it takes a lot of patience and practice to get accustomed to chewing with new dentures.

Tip #2. Be Patient

New dentures may rub against the gums, thus having sore spots may be common during the adjustment period. The gum tissue takes time to firm up and accommodate to the denture, so patience is key to becoming accustomed to the denture.

At  LPFD (Low-Priced Flexible Dentures) we seek to help you every step of the way in giving you a smile that you are proud of! Dentures improve speech, chewing, digestion, your smile and confidence. Here are some helpful denture tips that are focused on wearing tips for new dentures.
